May rain brings continued flooding to Hoover.
This is Matthew Smith's home. Once again it was flooded on May 15, 2023, after very little rain. Matthew Smith wrote on Hoover News and Information:
This is unacceptable!! 23 inches in less than an hour. It is time The City Of Hoover does better. Fix your drainage and flooding issues. My son can’t even play in his backyard due to your faulty infrastructure. Yet we pay taxes for this to be maintained but you say you can’t fix it, we can’t even get grass clippings picked up in our neighborhood hardly anymore. DO BETTER HOOVER NO MORE EXCUSES!! Patton Creek was to the bridges but did not overtop. Creeks were filled with turbid water, most of which will end up in the Cahaba.
